How Well do you sleep?

A lack of quality sleep can actually be one of the biggest determiners of your overall health.  This is the first factor someone should look at when trying to increase their health and fitness levels.  Without quality sleep, weight loss, muscle gain, etc is much harder to attain. Most adults require a minimum of 7+ hours to fully recover the days mental and physical activities.  Some of the negative effects of low quality sleep includes;

  • Heart Disease and High Blood Pressure

  • Diabetes

  • Weight Gain

  • Loss of cognitive acuity

  • Lowered Sex Drive

There are a few stratagies you can explore for better sleep.  It would be wise to start with one that you think would make the most difference and then try others if or when needed.

  • Sleep Schedule, fall asleep and wake up at the same time everyday

  • Limit Caffeine in the afternoon

  • Avoid Large meals and sugar before bed

  • Avoid Alcohol

  • Less Screen Time with Electronics before bed

  • Regular Exercise
